Charlton boss Alan Pardew insists Jerome Thomas was dropped from his squad because of his training ground 'mindset' - rather than his arrest two weeks ago.
Thomas did not figure in Charlton's squad that beat Leicester 2-0 in the Championship on Saturday, as the Addicks continue their march towards a Premiership return.
However his boss is insistent that the winger was only not involved because of his performances in training.
"He wasn't picked because of his mindset at training," Pardew said in the Daily Mirror. "It's nothing to do with off-field activities.
"It's more about what happens on the field and the discipline that's needed at this level.
"He needs to learn quickly that there's an etiquette at this club in how we react when we lose and how we congratulate each other when we win - that's why he's not involved at the moment."
The off-field activities relates to Thomas' arrest two weeks ago, whilst on a night out with Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant.
