Chris Iwelumo has insisted he did not dive against his former club Colchester on Saturday.
The Scottish striker left Layer Road in the summer to join Charlton and he helped his new side claim a 2-2 draw in Essex.
With the score at 2-1, Iwelumo was sent clear on goal - before going down under a challenge from Matthew Connolly - who received a straight red card.
The home side were furious claiming there was no contact, but Connolly went
and Charlton equalised not long after.
But Iwelumo has been quick to deny that he dived.
"It's part and parcel of football," Iwelumo said.
"Everyone that knows me knows that I do not go down unless there is contact.
"I was caught and I don't go down when I'm one-on-one with the keeper.
"I was disappointed with the crowd reaction after that but it's part and parcel of football."
