New Getafe coach Michael Laudrup is lining up fellow Dane Dennis Rommedahl.
Rommedahl's agent Soren Lerby is understood to be in Madrid negotiating a move to the Spanish capital on behalf of the Charlton winger.
The former PSV Eindhoven man has just one year remaining on his contract at The Valley and is widely expected to leave following Charlton's relegation from the Premier League.
Lerby told AS: "We are close to a deal (with Getafe) although nothing has been signed. We have spoken with Charlton and the player wants to come."
Should a move to Spain fall through, Auxerre and Galatasaray are believed to have shown an interest in the Danish international.
It is expected Rommedahl will make a decision on his future shortly.
Laudrup, who succeeded Bernd Schuster on Monday, is looking to add further to his squad.
The former Brondby coach is thought to be targeting midfield reinforcements in addition to the capture of Kepa Blanco.
