Darren Ambrose claims Charlton's players are desperate to return to action and dig themselves out of trouble.
The Addicks, like the majority of teams in the Premiership, had the weekend off due to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
It is a testing time for Charlton as they are firmly in a relegation battle, but midfielder Ambrose claims the players are ready for their next meeting with Newcastle.
"We have got nine really hard games coming up and we are still in the bottom three, six points behind," he told Sky Sports News "We are just raring to go for the next game."
Charlton could be forgiven for casting an eye over the run-ins of their relegation rivals, but Ambrose says the focus at The Valley is solely on their own situation.
"We are just concentrating on our situation," said Ambrose. "The next game is Newcastle and we are raring to go."
