Stanley lose loan keeper

Charlton Athletic have recalled goalkeeper Rob Elliot from a loan spell at Accrington Stanley.

Elliot linked up with the League Two club last August on loan for the season, although Charlton had an option to cut short the deal in January.

New Addicks chief Alan Pardew has exercised that clause after summoning the keeper back to The Valley.

The youngster was in his second loan stint with Accrington, having played a key role in the club's promotion to the Football League last term.

But this season, he did not start a League Two game until mid-December and is happy to be back at Charlton.

"To be honest, it's good to be back," Elliot told Charlton's official website.

"I missed the quality of coaching and the facilities, and hopefully I will get straight back into the reserves.

"Overall, my time at Accrington was a great experience. Things didn't go quite according to plan for me this season, but last season was fantastic and I'm sure I've improved my game."
