De Guzman eyes England move

Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Julian de Guzman is hoping to move to the Premiership.

Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Julian de Guzman is hoping to move to the Premiership, after being linked with Charlton Athletic.

De Guzman has struggled to establish himself at Deportivo since joining the club from Hannover in the summer of 2005.

The Canada international could now be allowed to leave La Coruna in the January transfer window and has set his sights on a switch to England.

His qualities could be ideally suited to Premiership football and reports have suggested he is a target for struggling Charlton.

Intimating that he has an offer from England, de Guzman is eager to take up an opportunity to move on from Deportivo.

"I am convinced that I shall accept the chance to move," said de Guzman in the Independent.

"English football is passionate and it is wonderful for any player to play there."
