Ipswich Town manager Jim Magilton has brought in Simon Walton and Mark Noble on loan to bolster his Championship squad.
Walton (pictured) joins The Tractor Boys on a one-month loan deal from Charlton, while Noble arrives from West Ham until November.
The pair have been drafted into Magilton's squad to increase competition for places at Portman Road and the Ipswich chief says the pair can expect plenty of playing time while at the club.
Both players have been included in Ipswich's squad for their game against Hull City on Saturday.
"They're in the squad and I haven't brought them here to sit on the bench," Magilton told the club's official website.
"We're glad to have them here and it adds to the competition we have in the squad now.
"I'm expecting a positive reaction from the other lads. I'm sure it will spur them on because they know that to be successful here, we have to have competition for places."
Meanwhile, Magilton has confirmed an interest in bringing Burnley defender John McGreal back to the club.
The 34-year-old left Ipswich in 2004 but has now fallen down the pecking order at Turf Moor and is yet to appear in the league this season.
Magilton, who played alongside McGreal during his time at Portman Road, is keen on the stopper's return to Suffolk.
"We have expressed an interest in John and we are waiting to see what happens," Magilton added.
"That is one of the irons we have in the fire."
