Charlton ace Jay Bothroyd has angrily hit back at suggestions that his recent blackout was down to drugs.
Bothroyd blacked out while driving his car on Monday and as a result he crashed his car.
The former Perugia forward suffered a similar blackout six years ago and he was sent for neurological tests to try and find the root of the problem.
Some reports suggested that the crash could be due to the effects of drinking or drugs, but Bothroyd has blasted the rumours.
"People who know me know that I don't drink and they know that I don't take drugs. I don't abuse my body," Bothroyd told the club's official website.
The 23-year-old has been released from hospital and is hoping to be given the all-clear to return to training.
"I feel all right, but I only remember bits of it - I don't remember how the car came to a stop.
"I'm seeing a specialist on Thursday, and hopefully they will give me the all clear for the weekend.
"I can't really explain it.
"When it happened to me before, it was due to low sugar levels, so it may be the same thing again, but I don't know.
"All I recall is someone throwing a brick through my back window in order to open a door and take me out because all the doors were locked."
