Charlton v Leeds preview

Charlton boss Alan Curbishley welcomes back influential midfield pair Scott Parker and Claus Jensen for Leeds' visit to The Valley on Saturday.

Parker returns after serving a one-match ban against Leicester and Dane Jensen is recovering well from a knee injury to bolster a squad that is unbeaten in seven Premiership games and are riding high in fourth.

Curbishley does have some fitness doubts over strikers Kevin Lisbie and Jonathan Johansson.

Jamaican international Lisbie was taken off early against Leicester with a hamstring strain while Finn Johansson is still troubled with a thigh problem.

Defender Mark Fish was forced off at The Walkers Stadium with a knock to the head but is expected to recover in time for the visit of bottom club Leeds.

Whites caretaker boss Eddie Gray will be hoping for a repeat of the corresponding fixture last season when Leeds went to Charlton and won 6-1 to help them on their way to ensuring their Premiership survival.

Gray will be buoyed by the return of captain Dominic Matteo from suspension who he hopes will sure up a defence that has conceded 15 goals in their last four games and 33 in all in the league, the worst of any top-flight club.

Alan Smith also returns to the starting XI after serving a one-match ban and the England forward will be hoping to take his mind off his latest misconduct charge with The Football Association for hurling a plastic bottle into the Elland Road crowd.

Gary Kelly and Jermaine Pennant are also available after missing last Saturday's defeat to Bolton with back and personal problems respectively.
