Clough: We are coping better

Nigel Clough believes Sheffield United are beginning to cope better with sides coming to Bramall Lane and raising their game.

The Blades registered a third home win from the last four after they edged an enthralling South Yorkshire derby against Doncaster on Tuesday night. The success put Clough's team eight points ahead of seventh-placed Rochdale and made them almost certainties for the play-offs. And Clough was pleased with how his side acquitted themselves in front of their own fans. He said: "People do put a performance on when they come in front of 20,000 people at Bramall Lane. "We have coped with that all season. We are getting a little bit better at it, we still have to make better decisions than we did at times against Doncaster. "Doncaster were another one of these teams who come to Bramall Lane and play better than they do ordinarily." Clough has refused to accept his side's play-off berth has been assured, despite their strong position, and insists the Blades are the team under pressure. "There's still 15 points to play for so we are by no means in it," he added. "Other teams have nothing to lose, when you're in there, we've got thing to lose not them. "It's like us last season, we could play with freedom, no one expected us to make the play-offs, there's pressure when you're in there."
