Sheffield United teenager Diego De Girolamo has confirmed he will return to League Two side York on loan.

The 19-year-old striker, a free agent in the summer after refusing to sign a new deal at Bramall Lane, scored four goals in eight appearances for the Minstermen while on loan at the club earlier in the season. De Girolamo tweeted: "Couldn't be happier to be rejoining @yorkcityfc on loan and being called up for Italy U20s again. all I want to do is play football." The Blades announced on Monday that De Girolamo will leave Bramall Lane at the end of the season after failing to agree a new deal. "His time here will come to an end when his contract ends. He's rejected his contract offer and the chance to stay here," Blades boss Nigel Clough said. "We felt we had offered him a good deal but I think he feels he will get better opportunities elsewhere." De Girolamo will now be hoping to feature for Russ Wilcox's side in York's league game at Northampton on Saturday.
