Adams has Sheff Utd incentive

Che Adams has extra incentive to make his first appearance for Sheffield United in the Capital One Cup against Southampton.

The Blades beat off competition from a long list of clubs to sign Adams from Ilkeston last month and the 18-year-old has wasted little time in forcing his way into Nigel Clough's matchday squad having been an unused substitute on five occasions. Clough returned to Evo-Stik North Premier side Ilkeston to sign Kieran Wallace shortly after Adams' arrival at Bramall Lane and the midfielder made his debut in Saturday's draw at Fleetwood. "We've been so close to getting (Che) on and he was a bit fed up in some ways because his mate got his debut before him," Clough said ahead of Tuesday night's quarter-final tie. "Kieran came in afterwards but got his debut on Saturday, so Che was a bit peeved. "But I told him he was in an 18-man squad in a League Cup quarter-final and four weeks ago he was playing for Ilkeston."
