Sheffield United striker Chris Porter said he never looked to leave the club after signing a new deal.

The 30-year-old was offered reduced terms at the end of the season after the Blades opted not to extend his previous contract, but insisted he was always going to stay. Defender Ben Davies, who spent the last two-and-a-half months of the season at the club on loan from Derby, has also signed a one-year deal. Porter told the club's official website: "I'm pleased to get it done, but there hasn't been a delay as such, I have been away for Ryan Flynn's wedding, so I have been in Scotland for the last 10 days or so. "I haven't looked elsewhere, despite a bit of interest from other clubs. Once I knew there was an offer on the table I was keen to extend my stay at Sheffield United. "This is a city where I want to live, the club is going places and I want be part of something special here. "I could have moved on for more money, but that isn't what drives me. I'm a loyal person and I am happy in Sheffield."
