Sheffield United defender Harry Maguire has been handed his first England Under-21 call-up for Tuesday's friendly against Northern Ireland.

Maguire and Leicester striker Martyn Waghorn have both been summoned to the squad after Pearce lost three players including Wilfried Zaha, the Football Association confirmed on Sunday evening. Zaha was moved up to the senior squad by Roy Hodgson after five players pulled out of Wednesday's game in Sweden, while Blackburn midfielder Jason Lowe and Newcastle forward Sammy Ameobi withdrew due to injury. Maguire, 19, made his Blades debut in April 2011 and has since made over 80 appearances for the League One outfit. Waghorn has won four under-21 caps, scoring against both Azerbaijan and Israel in September 2011.
