Sheffield United boss Danny Wilson feels Bramall Lane is where midfielder Kevin McDonald belongs after agreeing a new deal.
The 23-year-old penned a new two-year deal with the Blades on Wednesday to end speculation over his future, with McDonald admitting there were several clubs interested in his services.
"Kevin has been very good for us but I also think Sheffield United has been very good for Kevin," Wilson told the Sheffield Star.
"It was excellent news for us because we've all seen what Kevin is capable of and, if we had not have been able to keep him, then I've got to say he would have been very difficult to replace.
"Sheffield United, at this stage of his career, is the right club for him. He was in a bit of a difficult place when he came here and he isn't now so there's something here that clearly works for him.
"We like to try and play to his strengths so it's a good fit."
