Sheffield United manager Danny Wilson is expecting a flurry of transfer activity at Bramall Lane in the coming weeks.

The Blades, who released 11 players at the end of the season, have so far drafted in just two new signings, with full-back Darryl Westlake arriving from Walsall and John Cofie coming on loan from Manchester United.

"We've got a lot on the hook if you like, we've just not managed to land them yet," Wilson said. "We're just waiting to see what happens over the next week or two.

"There's no secret that we need players in, we're thin on the ground in lots of areas, so as we go along we'll be looking to bring players in and looking at who we can afford to bring in.

"With regards to numbers we have to manage it as we go along, it all depends on who we've got re-signing for us.

"We've obviously still got [out-of-contract pair] Lee Williamson and Kevin McDonald outstanding and we don't really know what's going to happen with those two."
