Hill hopes fifth time's a charm

Sheffield United loanee Matt Hill is hoping to make it fifth time lucky at Wembley in the League One play-off final.

The Blackpool defender, who has made 14 appearances for the Blades since arriving on loan in early March, has yet to taste success in the play-offs after twice being on the losing side in both the semi-finals and the final. "It will be a fantastic occasion, but we are solely focused on winning the game," Hill told the club's official website. "It will be my first time in a final at Wembley after two finals at the Millennium Stadium, so hopefully that will be a good omen and third time lucky for me in the play-off final." The 31-year-old went close to scoring a spectacular goal in a game short on chances in the second-leg win over Stevenage when his 30-yard thunderbolt cleared the crossbar by a couple of inches before Chris Porter's decisive 85th-minute header. "I thought it was goalbound for a second or two and for a moment I was thinking how to celebrate, but it sailed just over," Hill said. "In the end though, we managed to break their resistance after huffing and puffing."
