Rochdale goalkeeper David Lucas has hailed Sheffield United striker Richard Cresswell for "saving his life" at the weekend.
Lucas was knocked unconscious following a collision with Blades defender Neill Collins late in the first half during his side's 3-0 defeat.
The 34-year-old received emergency medical treatment after Cresswell, a former team-mate at Preston, had put the goalkeeper into the recovery position to stop him swallowing his tongue.
Lucas told the Daily Mirror: "As dramatic as it sounds to say he saved my life, maybe he did.
"It was lucky on my part that someone as sensible and quick-thinking like Cressy reacted as quickly as he did."
Play was stopped for 10 minutes due to the incident and Lucas was later given the all-clear at hospital.
