Blades boss hails midfield duo

Danny Wilson has hailed the efforts of Sheffield United midfielders Nick Montgomery and Lee Williamson in Sunday's derby draw.

Blades skipper Montgomery made his first start since August against Sheffield Wednesday following an ankle injury, while Williamson's inclusion was at the expense of Michael Doyle, who was left out of the matchday squad. Wilson, disappointed his side let slip a two-goal lead to draw 2-2, told the club's official website: "We went for Monty's experience as a holding midfield player, which we knew we would need, and on the bench we put an extra striker. "Michael Doyle has been very unlucky to miss out, you have to make a decision and with only five subs it does make it very frustrating for those lads who are not involved. "But Monty's performance was excellent. This type of game suits him down to the ground. He was fantastic and you wouldn't have thought he had been out for any amount of time, let alone a month. "I thought Lee Williamson was great as well, we were really pleased with him."
