Evans close to Blades return

Sheffield United striker Ched Evans is close to a return to first-team action after a five-month lay-off due to an ankle injury.

The 22-year-old Wales international, sidelined due to an ankle injury, is scheduled to appear for the reserves against Burton this week. He has not featured for the Blades since their final home game of last season, against Barnsley in April. Evans, who moved to Bramall Lane from Manchester City in a £3million deal in July 2009, has scored 13 goals in a total of 71 appearances for the Blades, his last one coming in the 3-2 defeat at Scunthorpe in February.
