Wilson critical of referee

Sheffield United manager Danny Wilson was unhappy with referee Andy Woolmer after the 1-1 League One draw at Tranmere.

The Blades dropped their first points of the season in a fiery encounter which culminated in both sides collecting three cautions. "Some of my players were kicked all over the place," said Wilson. "The referee had a very poor game." United took the lead in the 44th minute from a wonder-strike by skipper Nick Montgomery, but substitute Joss Labadie headed an equaliser in the 80th minute. Wilson added: "It was a battle. We were under an aerial bombardment at times but dealt with it brilliantly for the most part. "We got caught out by a short corner late on, but it is still a great point for us here. I would certainly have taken it if offered it before the game."
