United yet to decide on whether to send midfielder out on loan

Peterborough United hope to sign Manchester United teenager Ryan Tunnicliffe on loan and are also chasing Yeovil Town defender Craig Alcock. Tunnicliffe is highly rated at Old Trafford and was a key member of the side which won last season's FA Youth Cup by beating Sheffield United in the final. Interest in signing the midfielder on loan is high, but the Red Devils have yet to make a decision on whether Tunnicliffe will be part of their first-team plans next season. If Sir Alex Ferguson decides to loan out the youngster, then his son Darren is keen on having Tunnicliffe in his Peterborough squad for a campaign in the Championship. Posh director of football Barry Fry told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph: "Ryan Tunnicliffe is a player we are interested in and the manager is trying to secure his services for the season." Fry also revealed that Peterborough have held talks regarding a deal for the versatile Alcock, who is out of contract at League One side Yeovil. He added: "We have also spoken to Craig Alcock. He is a player we like as he can play at right-back, centre-back or in midfield, but he has just had an operation and is out for four weeks. "Ideally we want three or four new players here in time for them to fly out with the first-team squad to their training camp in Portugal next weekend."
