Robins to sign Wolves defender on permanent deal

Barnsley are poised to sign Wolves defender Matt Hill on a permanent basis, skysports.com understands. Full-back Hill has been on loan at Oakwell since October and the Tykes are ready to make the move permanent. The former Preston and Bristol City man has helped fill the void created by Jay McEveley's serious knee injury. Wolves are believed to be willing to offload Hill as he is well down the pecking order in Mick McCarthy's plans. The 29-year-old has made six appearances for Barnsley since joining on loan and Mark Robins is now ready to offer him a short-term deal until the end of the season.
