Sheffield United are closing in on the capture of Ipswich Town defender Alex Bruce, skysports.com understands.
The 25-year-old stopper's future at Ipswich is uncertain as he enters the final year of his contract.
Bruce made 12 league starts for the Tractor Boys last season while he was sent on loan to Leicester.
And, having fallen out-of-favour under manager Roy Keane, the Blades are said to be keen to tie up a deal.
Bruce, son of Sunderland boss Steve, signed at Portman Road on a free transfer.
