Doncaster Rovers have confirmed that they remain keen on Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp.
The Blades marksman spent last season on loan at the Keepmoat Stadium and he impressed with 15 goals.
But the 24-year-old is now being tracked by a host of clubs and his future remains unclear.
"Billy is a Sheffield United player so it would be churlish for me to comment on what might happen," said Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll.
"The people we have spoken to about Billy have said that they are having meetings to try and find a way forward. Whatever happens will happen.
"We've got a lot of players in the last year of their contract and if we want to keep them we'll have to do something."
