Scunthorpe United defender Marcus Williams is set to join a rival Championship club after his contract was cancelled.
Williams' deal at Glanford Park was due to expire at the end of June and he had rejected the chance to stay with Nigel Adkins' side.
The left-back is now free to agree a contract with another club and reports suggest the 24-year-old will link up with Reading on a free transfer.
After coming through the ranks at Scunthorpe, Williams made almost 200 appearances for the club and he becomes the second player to exit the Iron this week.
Striker Paul Hayes has also opted to move on after agreeing a three-year contract to join Preston North End.
