Sheffield United have yet to decide whether they will allow Chris Morgan to attend Monday's Yorkshire derby at Barnsley.
The Blades captain is suspended from the fixture after picking up his fifth booking of the season in last week's defeat to Championship table-toppers Newcastle.
But United may even ban Morgan from making the short trip to Oakwell so that he avoids a hot reception following his clash with Barnsley's Iain Hume last November.
The Blades centre-back fractured the Tykes striker's skull, causing nine months of rehabilitation, and feelings are likely to still be running high among home fans.
United manager Kevin Blackwell said of former Barnsley player Morgan: "We'll have to wait and see if Chris goes or watches it on the box.
"Chris is really gutted at not being able to play. He was really looking forward to going back to his old club and doing well."
