Richard Cresswell has become the latest player to be added to the long injury list at Sheffield United.
The new signing, on loan from Stoke, suffered cracked ribs in the process of scoring the Blades' equaliser against Doncaster last weekend, and manager Kevin Blackwell is waiting to hear from the Bramall Lane medical team on the length of time he faces out.
Earlier in the week it was confirmed that Nick Montgomery will be ruled out for the foreseeable future for United with a knee ligament injury, while a number of other players are also sidelined.
Derek Geary, Gary Naysmith, Lee Williamson, Matthew Kilgallon, Jamie Ward, James Harper and Keith Treacy are all out with injuries, much to the frustration of Blackwell.
"It's another blow," he told the club's official website.
"It is another injury that has come out of nowhere but we just have to get on with it.
"I will speak to the doctor about the length of time we will be without him but Richard is a tough lad - he showed that by carrying on in Saturday's game. We will have to wait and see."
