Striker re-joins on loan

Notts County have re-signed Jonathan Forte on loan from Scunthorpe United. The 22-year-old spent a month on loan at Meadow Lane earlier this season when he scored four goals in as many games. He returned to Glanford Park but was limited to just two substitute appearances and now has been allowed to go back to County. "It's another boost for us," Magpies boss Ian McParland said. "We have been looking for a striker to freshen it up and to give everyone a lift. "We managed to get the one we wanted too. I didn't dive in and take any striker for the sake of it. We wanted Jonathan back so we waited. "It's probably two or three weeks later than we would have liked. "But his manager, Nigel Adkins, has been very good to us by letting us bring him back. "He was holding onto him just in case one of his strikers got injured. But he has decided now they can afford to let him go out for a month."

Lillis

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Josh Lillis has returned to Scunthorpe following the end of his one-month loan with the Magpies. The 21-year-old filled in during the absence of injured shot-stoppers Kevin Pilkington and Russell Hoult, before ending his stint at Meadow Lane with a clean sheet in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Barnet. McParland told the club's official website: "Josh has been terrific for us and I'm delighted he managed to keep a clean sheet on Saturday because there's no doubt he's deserved one. "Pilks is back fit again now so Josh has gone back to Scunthorpe. "We would like to thank both parties for helping us out when we were in desperate need of a goalkeeper. "Josh has shown he has all the attributes to make a good career for himself in the game and I sincerely hope he does."
