Sheffield United chairman Kevin McCabe has insisted that the club are in a position where they do not have to sell their star players.
The likes of highly-rated youngster Kyle Naughton has been linked with a move away from Bramall Lane, amid reported interest from a number of Premier League sides.
But McCabe has warned any interested parties that United are under no obligation to part company with their key personnel in the forthcoming January transfer window.
He said in the Daily Mirror: "We've lost a lot of talent in the past few years but that shouldn't be the case now.
"We don't want to sell anyone that we'd prefer to keep."
