Newly-promoted Forest eye Hungarian striker

Nottingham Forest are interested in Barnsley's out of favour Hungarian striker Istvan Ferenczi. The Tykes, who struggled in the Championship last season, are keen to offload the 30-year-old in order to reduce their wage bill. Forest have already bagged Robert Earnshaw following promotion last season, although manager Colin Calderwood is keen to strengthen his squad further. Ferenczi has now confirmed Nottingham Forest are interested in his services, but given a choice he would rather stay at Oakwell.

Interest

"I've had an approach from Sweden and Nottingham Forest are also interested. If it's up to me then I'd choose Forest," he told Pepsifoci. "I like the English football style and Nottingham is close to Barnsley so a move wouldn't be that difficult. But the most ideal thing would be to stay here. "If a suitable offer comes in then the club would release me as this is the last time when they can get money for me."
