Bryan Robson insists he is not looking to sell Michael Tonge after the Sheffield United midfielder was linked with Charlton Athletic.
Reports have claimed that Charlton have lined up a bid for Tonge, who has made over 270 appearances for the Blades.
But Bramall Lane boss Robson has dismissed suggestions that he will part with the 24-year-old in the transfer window.
"We haven't had any approach from Charlton Athletic for Michael Tonge and he is definitely a player I am not looking to sell, " Robson told the club's official website.
"In the last couple of months he has come into his own and raised his performances from earlier in the season."
Robson also holds an interest in Luton Town goalkeeper Dean Brill and is hoping to secure a deal for the youngster.
However, with Luton now the subject of a takeover, Robson's hopes of nicking the player on the cheap could have been scuppered.
He added: "We are looking at things with Brill and are hopeful of getting a good young player for a very reasonable price, so that still has some mileage left in it."
