Cobblers land young Blade

Northampton Town have signed Sheffield United striker Jordan Robertson on loan.

Northampton Town have signed Sheffield United striker Jordan Robertson on loan for the rest of the season.

The 18-year-old has struggled to work his way into Neil Warnock's first-team plans, having spent time on loan in League Two with Torquay United this season.

Cobblers boss Stuart Gray was pleased to bring the talented teenager to The Sixfields Stadium.

"He is a young striker who we have watched regularly and he has impressed us," Gray told the club's official website.

"Jordan is a very talented player and Neil Warnock is pleased to allow him to come here and we hope that the spell will benefit all parties."

The news comes as Northampton goalkeeper Mark Bunn signed a two-and-a-half year contract extension with the League One club.

Bunn will remain with The Cobblers until the summer of 2009, having come through the club's youth ranks.

One player to leave Sixfields is winger Jerome Watt after he joined Conference club Morecambe on a month's loan.
