Blades stars in bust-up

Two Sheffield United team-mates have been involved in a training ground row.

Two Sheffield United team-mates have been involved in a training ground row.

Reports claim Blades striker Ade Akinbiyi was threatened by Claude Davis while the defender was holding a razor.

The bust-up was triggered as an argument following Davis' sending-off against Everton last week escalated.

It is believed Akinbiyi made a joke about the former Preston defender's performance at Goodison Park, resulting in a tit-for-tat exchange between the pair.

The Daily Mail reports senior players and staff had to pull the duo apart as the row threatened to get out of hand.

"There was a lot of argy-bargy, but that was about it," Akinbiyi said.

"There was a row lasting about two minutes in the changing room, but I'm not saying if he did or didn't pull out a razor."

It is thought the argument took place while Davis was shaving in the dressing room but the defender has denied actually attacking the striker with his razor.

The incident took place out of view of manager Neil Warnock who said: "I don't know anything about this whatsoever and I'm close enough to know if something like that had happened."
