Peterborough United gave out-of contract duo Guy Branston and Simon Yeo a run-out in a pre-season friendly on Monday.

Keith Alexander's side defeated Eircom League Premier Division side Sligo Rovers 4-0 in Ireland, as the League Two club prepare for the new season next month.

Defender Branston joined The Posh for their trip to Ireland after rejecting the offer of a new deal with Oldham Athletic, having spent time training with former club Rotherham United.

Striker Yeo (pictured), who scored twice against Sligo, earned a run-out with the London Road outfit after leaving League Two rivals Lincoln City.

Sheffield United left back Evan Horwood played the second half on Monday, while former Northampton Town man David Rowson also played 45 minutes for The Posh.
