Paddy Kenny is hoping Sheffield United can emulate West Ham United and Wigan Athletic upon their return to The Premiership.
The Blades clinched automatic promotion to the top flight after finishing runners-up to Reading in The Championship.
Republic of Ireland international Kenny is now looking for the club to follow the example of two of last year's promoted sides, who both finished in the top ten.
"I think you've got to look at how well they've done," Kenny told Sky Sports News.
"They've brought players in and strengthened in the right areas.
"They have both managed to do very well this year and I hope we can follow them on."
Kenny is relishing the chance to play in The Premiership for the first time in his career and the goalkeeper admits promotion is a major boon for The Blades.
He added: "It's been a good season for everyone and we were happy at the end.
"We've been knocking on the door now and for it to happen is good for everyone connected to the club.
"Obviously, you want to test yourself against the best players. When it comes round, hopefully I can do okay and enjoy myself as well."
Meanwhile, The Blades have been linked with a bid for Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie, who is likely to leave the club during the summer.
