Sheffield United have opted to extend the loan deals of Ian Ross and Jonathan Forte at Boston and Doncaster respectively.

Both players will remain with their clubs for another month with Blades manager Neil Warnock requesting a call-back option.

"Forte and Ross have done well," confirmed Warnock.

"The good thing about extending the loans is that we can now have them back at a minute's notice should we need them.

"These loans will toughen them up, the games will make them both a lot stronger."

Ross has played five games for League Two Boston while Forte has scored twice in four games for League One Rovers.

In other news, United have decided against extending the trial spell of goalkeeper Saul Deeney.

"Saul did well but we are looking for a third goalkeeper at the minute," added Warnock.

"He is too good to be a third choice - he needs to play games."
