Burnley have confirmed their third signing of the day - with Sheffield United's Jon Harley arriving at the club.

The former Chelsea man has agreed to join Burnley permanently next week, although a loan deal is in place to allow the defender to play at the weekend.

The former England Under-21 international exploded into the public consciousness at Stamford Bridge when he displayed an eye for a dramatic goal.

After drifting out of contention at Chelsea, Harley made a £3.5 million move to Fulham, but again found himself on the periphery and after two loan spells moved on to The Blades.

Burnley have now moved to snap up the left sided star, and he will go straight into the club's squad for their game against Derby at Turf Moor on Saturday.

Harley is the third signing of a busy day at Burnley - following Bournemouth's John Spicer and loan arrival Keith Lowe from Wolves.
