Sheffield United striker Steve Kabba has been dealt a blow in his comeback from injury.

The former Crystal Palace hit-man has endured an injury-ravaged 18-months with The Blades, but was hoping to return to action in the New Year.

Kabba suffered tendonitis, a broken ankle and a snapped Achilles tendon in that time, but hopes were looking positive for a full recovery.

However, tendonitis in Kabba's knee has since returned and Blades boss Neil Warnock believes it is unlikely the striker may play this season.

"It is another blow for Steve and I don't really have an idea when he will be back in action," Warnock told the club's official website. "I will be pleased if he plays any football this season.

"He was training quite hard until this returned.

"Now it is a case of going back to the weights and having an injection.

"Some players shake off tendonitis in a couple of weeks while with others, it can be six months."
