Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock says his hectic schedule has scuppered his attempts to bring in a striker but he has invited goalkeeper Abdallah Bah back for a further trial.

The Blades boss even confessed that unless he moves quick he will miss out on his as-yet unnamed target and be forced to wait until the summer, obviously forgetting that the transfer window reopens in just over two weeks.

He told the club's official website: "I've had no time to progress on the striker movement this week.

"I know what I can have and if we don't sign him soon I'll have another look in the summer."

Reports had linked ex-Sheffield Wednesday forward Gerald Sibon, plus Leeds' Nicky Barmby and Huddersfield's Andy Booth with a move to Bramall Lane but Warnock quashed those links.

Warnock did though confirm that he will be taking another look at French keeper Bah, who impressed in a recent outings in the reserves.

"He did well and I've asked him to come back next week," he added.

"He's not the biggest of goalkeepers but he's keen and enthusiastic."
