SHEFFIELD UNITED striker Steve Kabba will be sidelined for a further two months although he is unlikely to require an operation on his problematic knee.

Kabba has not featured for The Blades this term after being plagued by a knee injury aggravated in a pre-season friendly.

The 22-year-old visited a specialist on Thursday to discover the full extent of the tendonitis which has prevented him from being involved for the First Division promotion hopefuls.

Blades boss Neil Warnock was satisfied to finally learn the true damage to Kabba's knee and was relieved the forward does not need to go under the surgeon's knife.

"We are glad we have got to the bottom of Steve's problem and are quite pleased that he doesn't appear to need an operation," said Warnock.

"However, it does look like he will be out for another couple of months which is disappointing for him.

"On advice from the specialist he will take a different rehabilitation programme and we will keep monitoring him."
