TRANSFER LISTED Carlisle United striker Ian Stevens could be poised to end his Brunton Park nightmare by signing for Third Division rivals Shrewsbury Town, while veteran frontman Adrian Littlejohn is in talks over a move to The Cumbrians.
Stevens was told he was surplus to requirements by Carlisle boss Roddy Collins and has not played since the 2-1 defeat at Torquay in August, where he scored his solitary goal so far this season.
However, with Richie Foran currently out of action with a knee injury, Collins is reluctant to part with a striker at present, although he is hoping to add to his striking options by adding Littlejohn to his ranks.
The Sheffield United striker is at Brunton Park for talks and his arrival could signal the end for Stevens, who has notched 11 goals in 44 league starts for Carlisle.
Meanwhile, Foran's injury is not as bad as first feared and the club are hoping he could be back in action by next weekend.
Reports suggested the Irishman may be missing for up to eight weeks with ligament damage, but a scan on his knee has revealed the extent of the injury is not as bad as first feared.
