Birmingham have sealed the loan signing of defender Rob Kiernan from Championship rivals Wigan Athletic.
Kiernan has joined until May 2, making him eligible for the final game of the Sky Bet Championship season at Bolton.
The 24-year-old defender has made 18 appearances for Latics this season and is a former Republic of Ireland Under-21 captain.
Boss Gary Rowett needed defensive cover with Michael Morrison out with a knee injury, along with fellow defender Gavin Gunning.
Wigan have a recall option on the defender after 28 days.
Latics boss Malky Mackay said: "Rob is a good pro and he's at the stage of his career where he needs to play games. Hopefully, the opportunity will come for him to do this at Birmingham and we wish him all the best in that respect.
"We will monitor his progress over the course of the season and reassess the situation in the summer."
