Wolves manager Kenny Jackett hailed winger Bakary Sako and vowed to hold on to him after his goal rescued a point from their 2-2 Sky Bet Championship draw against Wigan at Molineux.

Sako grabbed a 64th-minute equaliser after Wigan had cancelled out Dave Edwards' opener with goals from James Perch and Marc-Antoine Fortune.

Jackett is well aware that Sako will attract interest in the January transfer window if his current form continues.

He said: "I think that is the case with any player. If someone is very, very good in the Championship then they are vulnerable to the next set of clubs going forward.

"Gareth Bale still got bought by Real Madrid. There is always somebody that can do well enough for the next set of clubs to take them.

"But it is not something that we want. We are happy with him here and long may it continue.

Bakary Sako saved a point for Wolves against struggling Wigan after an entertaining 2-2 draw at Molineux.

"He is well-liked and respected here and he has a fantastic attitude.

"Another goal again for him is good and he does really respond to the crowd.

"He is under contract to us and he is very, very happy here.

"When we were down in League One there were different rumours about whether anyone would come in for him.

"We are very pleased to have him here and from my point if view long may it continue.

"I am sure that as the club keeps improving and keeps competing at the top part of this league it will help us."

Sako's goal denied Wigan a first win in six games and but manager Uwe Rosler was pleased with the character and performance of his players and feels they are slowing starting to get into their stride.

He said: "This is a difficult place to come and we had a game plan that worked well.

"I think we frustrated them in many ways. But when won the ball we weren't as good as we can be.

"The first goal should not be conceded at our level but we responded very well and being 2-1 up going into the second half I think then we had our best period where, had James McClean shown a bit more composure, we should have been up 3-1.

"Then we got pushed back and made changes to try and take the sting out of the game. But overall I would say it is a fair point."
