Brentford boss Mark Warburton insists Adam Forshaw has not been sold on the cheap.
Midfielder Forshaw is on the verge of joining Wigan after the Bees accepted an undisclosed bid for the 22-year-old.
Brentford had previously turned down two offers from the Latics and Warburton says the fee they have accepted is more than the £3million which has been rumoured.
"If anyone thinks we would let the League One Player of the Year go for £2-3million, they are mistaken," he said.
"We held firm on our valuation. The owner is happy, our valuation was met. We are delighted."
