Burnley have made a move for Wigan Athletic midfielder James McArthur, Sky Sports understands.
Clarets boss Sean Dyche has targeted the Scottish international, who scored a crucial late equaliser for Wigan on the opening day against Reading last week.
The 26-year-old has been with Wigan since 2010 when he joined from Hamilton Academical and has since established himself south of the border as an influential midfielder.
Now Burnley are hoping they can strike a deal to take McArthur back to the Premier League.
