Wigan Athletic have announced the Football Association has rescinded Jordi Gomez's red card in the defeat by Sunderland.
The midfielder was controversially dismissed on Saturday by referee Howard Webb for a tackle on Danny Rose at the Stadium of Light.
Wigan were furious with the decision, as they ultimately lost the Premier League game 1-0, and decided to appeal the red card.
Video evidence, along with a personal letter from manager Roberto Martinez, explained the reasoning behind the appeal and has since proved successful.
Martinez said on Wigan's official website: "It does not bring back the time lost when Jordi had to leave the field but I am delighted that we can draw a line under this incident and that Jordi is available for us on Saturday."
Wigan face the tough task of welcoming in-form Everton to the DW Stadium at the weekend.
