Aberdeen have confirmed prize asset Fraser Fyvie is in talks with Wigan about a move to the DW Stadium.
As revealed by skysports.com earlier on Monday, Fyvie had travelled to Wigan for talks and a medical ahead of a move to the Premier League side.
A number of clubs have been linked with Fyvie, but Wigan are now poised to secure the highly-rated midfielder's signature.
A short statement on the Aberdeen website read: "Aberdeen FC can this morning (Monday) confirm Fraser Fyvie is currently south of the border holding discussions with Wigan Athletic.
"The 19-year-old midfielder became the youngest ever player to start for the Dons when he made his debut against Hamilton Accies in 2008."
The Scotland Under-19 international made his debut for the Dons at the age of 16 and has already played over 50 league games for the club.
