Defender linked with move before Thursday's deadline

Portsmouth defender Jason Pearce admits his future is out of his hands after being linked with a move away from Fratton Park. Cash-strapped Pompey are resigned to losing a number of top players to ease their ongoing financial problems and Pearce is the latest player who could be on the move before Thursday's loan deadline. Liam Lawrence, Erik Huseklepp, Stephen Henderson and Hayden Mullins have already left and a number of clubs are waiting in the wings to sign centre-half Pearce. Ipswich have held a long-term interest in Pearce and several other Championship clubs could move for the player before Thursday's deadline. Pearce admits he is in the dark over his future, but insists he remains committed to the cause until he is told otherwise.

Committed

"I don't know what's going to happen and I don't know if they have to sell me or what," Pearce told the Portsmouth News. "I'm a Portsmouth player, I've got a contract here and I'm going to give my all to this club until I'm told differently. "I haven't been told any differently at the moment so I would think I will be here but it could be out of my hands. "I've come through the ranks here and I hold this club really close to me. It would be really sad to go. "All I know is that every day in training and every game I am lucky enough to play, I will give my all as I always do."
