Portsmouth defender Jason Pearce insists he wants to stay at the club, but the Ipswich Town target admits his future is out of his hands.
Ipswich failed with a bid for Pearce and team-mate Joel Ward earlier this month and remain keen to sign the duo before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.
Pearce, who scored in Pompey's 3-0 win at Peterborough United on Saturday, returned to Fratton Park last summer from Bournemouth and does not want to leave again.
However, with Pompey's financial problems well documented, the 24-year-old is aware that the situation may change before the deadline.
"It is all out of my hands, all I can do is give 100 per cent for the club," said Pearce.
"I love the club and everyone knows that. I want to stay but who knows what will happen.
"It is nice to be talked about and wanted but I have to just get on with my job. I'm a Portsmouth player and that is all that matters."
Big bill
Pompey boss Michael Appleton is aware players may be sold, but insists there has been no further contact from Ipswich regarding Pearce and Ward.
Appleton said: "If people make bids for our players we have to listen as we have a big bill to pay on February 20.
"I had one conversation with Paul Jewell two weeks ago after their initial bid for Pearce and Ward.
"It wasn't acceptable and I have spoken to no one from Ipswich since.
"I keep hearing about second and third bids but until Ipswich tell me they are interested I will carry on working with my players."
